2012 New Year, New Goals.

Just like some people and all of the billion and a half other bloggers out there since it is a new year I am thinking about resolutions and mostly new goals. I feel like some of my resolutions in the past have been, well, too broad.

"Get healthy" Yeah, sure, I did it. How do I really know, ya know?? I looked over some of my goals from last year and was going to write a blog recap when I realized that I forgot I even wrote just about half of them. Accountability? zero.

I know that it is good to WRITE down your goals (yay for blogs!) and to tell other people.... but I need a little more than that, so this year I think I am going to write MONTHLY goals and report back to you at the end of  each month. Then if I don't do it you can all yell at encourage me to do better!

Also, I believe that small measurable goals are the key to success. Start small people!!

So here we go:

JANUARY GOALS.

*Track what I eat EVERY day*
One of my biggest overall goals this year is to lose some weight and be more healthy. One huge motivating factor, clearly, is looking good in my wedding dress, but also I just want to treat my body well! I already work out pretty consistently and it has become a habit, so that is great! But now to notch it up a little I think I really need to see exactly what I am eating every day, which is definitely not horrible, but could use a bit of improvement. And drink more WATER. I need to drink way more water. I might even start blogging about this topic a little more, hopefully I don't bore you guys to tears but I want to watch my progress.

*Read two books this month*
My overall goal is to read 20 books this year. I am well on my way to achieving reading the two I want to read this month because I am currently reading "Start Something Small: The Story of Toms Shoes" by Blake Mycoskie and am going to read "Sing You Home" by Jodi Piccoult for book club.

*Consolidate our finances and SAVE MONEY*
E and I have already had most of our money together, but this month we are going to combine it even more / figure out our bills and hopefully see our savings add up a little faster!

*Find a wedding ceremony location and create out wedding website*
Crucial for obvious reasons. I am hoping this one is pretty easy to accomplish!
What do you hope to accomplish this month??

  1. I think you have such good goals! I really want to lose at least 20 pounds this year. I said 20 lbs because I think it's definitely achievable, but I could absolutely stand to do more! I'd love to see you blog about your goals--you go girl!

  2. I do goals as well! I love that you've broken them down in to months. I feel that makes them more attainable! Good luck!
