And the award goes to.....

Did you watch the Oscars last night?

Well as for my predictions 12 out of 22 were winners! That's pretty good,eh??

But now on the the more important details... What did you all think of the dresses last night???

Here is my official (haha) review... some of my faves... and some, not so much!

Mila Kunis, loved this look!
Jennifer Lawrence, I barely know who this is, but she looks stunning... and I think red is a hard color to pull off!

I know some people will disagree, but I just love Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman, always. It almost doesn't matter what dress they wear, I think they're beautiful and just seem like genuinely happy people. Basically, they glow. Except for Natalie Portman's earrings, I don't like those AT ALL (blech). As for Hailee Steinfeld, she looks like a little princess. So cute!

Ew, ew ew.... these three look washed out and boxy. Apparently I am not a fan of pale people in pale dresses. I don't know but I am just not feeling any of these three looks. I do like Nicole Kidman's shoes though!

New Items!! Bath and Body!

I am super excited to announce that I am adding a Bath n Body line to my Etsy shop. I made homemade body scrubs to give to some of my best girl friends for Christmas and they loved them so much that I decided I wanted to share them all with you! They are available now in 8 different scents in a 7.5 oz jar for $12 in my shop. This is a steal because a similar product that does not have all natural ingredients could cost you $20 plus in a bath and body store!

Spinach Artichoke Pizza... Recipe Swap!

Tonight E and I used our Trader Joe's Cookbook that we got for Christmas for the first time and made a delish dinner!

We made a Spinach Artichoke pizza on Whole Wheat crust.... well, we actually made HALF a pizza like that and the other half was red sauce with spinach and feta {because E doesn't know if he likes artichokes....} both HALVES came out great though and I highly recommend them!

{pic taken with my new iphone! :))

Spinach Artichoke Pizza

1 Trader Joe's Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
1/2 container (or 7 tablespoons) Trader Joe's Artichoke Parmesan Dip
1/2 can artichoke hearts
1 cup fresh or frozen spinach
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1 clove minced garlic

1. Heat oven to 500 degrees. Lightly flour surface and roll out pizza dough.

2. Spread Artichoke Parmesan dip onto crust.

3. Sprinkle with spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, and garlic. Top with shredded mozarella cheese.

4. Bake for 8- 10 minutes on a pizza stone or baking sheet.

{hot outta the oven!}

and 5. (Optional) Enjoy with a nice glass of red wine! .... I don't think that this part is optional but maybe for some ;)

Happy President's Day!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Or even better, a three day weekend!

I went shopping with my Mom today...we had a lot of fun at Marshall's, ACMoore, and the Verizon wireless store. I LOVE when all the Spring/Summer stuff shows up in the stores!

Most importantly though, can you guess what I got at Verizon???

I am having SO MUCH FUN playing with it!

What are some of your favorite apps that I should download??

Book Recommendations??

I'm on vacation from school for the week! The school where I work has a week off in February and a week off in April instead of having one longer "Spring Break" in March. It's glorious.

Lots of time off and not going on any actual vacation leaves me with lots of time to do something I never get to do... read for pleasure.

Have any book recommendations, my friends???

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

(Link up with Jamie!)

The salad bar, popover, peach sangria dinner we had tonight. I took a few pics and have the recipe to share with you soon. Stay tuned!

Warmer weather... ok, so maybe I am calling 45 degrees warm and that's a bit ridiculous, but I got to run and do my workout outside today, which I LOVE!

My sister for being my lovely free personal hairdresser... even if she is a professional and my hair sometimes comes out a little orange-y and we need to dye it again. I still love her!

FEbuary vacation is next week. Around here we get off one week in February and one week in April instead of one "Spring Break." I like April vacation better, but a whole week off? I'll take it!

Delicious Valentine chocolate from E.... although I am tempted to eat it all in a few sittings so it won't be around tempting me for as long, haha!

Valentine's Day Link Up Survey

Kelly and MJ are hosting a Valentine's Day Link Up Survey!

Here are the questions...
1. What is your favorite romantic comedy? The Notebook... I think I could watch that movie about a billion time!
2. What are your favorite flowers? Gerbera Daisies.

3. What is your favorite Valentine's Day treat to eat? Cinnamon hearts and, of course, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate!

4. Describe your best Valentine's Day: Umm, I love all Valentine’s Days I know a lot of people are like, “blah blah blah commercialized holiday” but what is wrong with having a day to appreciate all the loves in your life like your husband, boyfriend, parents, siblings, and friends! I can’t pick just one!
5. What has been the most romantic night of your life? When E and I stayed in the “honeymoon suite” at some sketchy little Reno casino while driving across country…. HAHH, totally kidding, but that is a funny story. I think the REAL most romantic night we’ve had was in Rome, Italy when we had an early flight the next morning and spent most of the night roaming the city eating dinner and hanging out near the Trevi fountain.. I mean, c’mon, how can that NOT be romantic??
6. What's your go to date night outfit? Probably dark skinny jeans, a ruffly type tanktop, and boots in winter or flat sandals in summer.
7. Where is your favorite place to go on a date? Out to dinner at a yummy restaurant… I can’t pick a fave, I like to try all kinds of places.
8. Store bought Valentine's or homemade? Either…
9. What is your favorite love song? Love You Till the End by the Pogues. (LOVE IT!!)
10. If you had to pick a date for Valentine's who would it be? My EJ… he’s not only a boyfriend but also one of my best friends. (Awww…. cheesy moment, sorry!)

SniqueAway, far, far away!

I have a problem, folks.
I have been bitten by a bug…. one that bites me every few months actually. The TRAVEL BUG! (haha sorry I am a nerd) I just can’t go very long without having a trip planned. Although E and I do get to sneak away this weekend (YAY!J) to spend Valentine’s Day in New Hampshire which will be fun. I just always like to have to have something to look forward to… especially during long and dreary New England winters. I just want to be somewhere WARM!
That’s why when I got an invitation to join a new travel website, I was QUITE excited! It is called SniqueAway and has deals at GEORGOUS hotels all around the world for crazy good prices! It is a division of TripAdvisor, which deserves it’s own post because I use it for all my planning needs and it is SO helpful. But anyways, just looking at the pictures on the SniqueAway website is making me want to eat nothing but Ramen noodles for the next month, haha, OR maybe just tweak my budget so I can afford a plane ticket to get to one of these places and take advantage of these great deals!
I mean, look at these pictures!!!
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Vail, Colorado
Orlando, Florida
Guanacaste, Costa Rica

The website is by invitation only though, so I wanted you all to get the opportunity to see what it is all about. If you would like to join you can go here. All you need to do is click “Join SniqueAway” and then click “A Friend Invited Me” and enter my email address, which is: “” How easy is that?? Do it!
If anyone who joins through my link plans a trip then I will get credits for my trip and you all will be able to invite your friends and be able to do the same. It’s a win, win!
Now cross your fingers for warmer, sunny days ahead! :)
This was not a sponsored post all ideas and opinions expressed were my own.

.... looking at Spring/Summer products popping up on lots of websites. It makes it a bit easier to take the fact that it will probably still be 4 months till I'm lying on the beach. Soon enough, soon enough. I want -->

.... speaking of bathing suits (ughh, right??), I am loving that I lost 3 pounds this week!

Weekend Recap!

How was your weekend???

Mine was GREAT! LOTS to celebrate.

Here's the lowdowwwn:

Saturday morning I tried my first Spin class at the gym! I really liked it! I usually just do my own thing at the gym or do yoga, but one of my friend's convinced me to try it. I loved having someone tell me what to do! And the music and the lighting! I can't wait to go again...

On Saturday night, we went out to a new brewing company that opened in my town to celebrate my cousin's 29th birthday! Lots of cousins and friends came... and then my cousin announced some even bigger news than the fact that she is turning 29, SHE'S PREGNANT! I am so very excited! Although I have about 15 cousins, she is the cousin that is closest to my age. We went to college together and lived together for a bit of it. I was also the maid of honor in her wedding two summers ago. I am so happy for her and CAN'T wait to meet her little addition in August (and to plan her shower of course!) :)

After dinner and drinks (for all of the non prego of us) we came back to my house for cupcakes and games. I made White Chocolate Strawberry Cupcakes... refer to here to find the recipe. Mine didn't come out NEARLY as pretty as those, boooo :( but they did taste great! :) We also played the Game of Things... if you haven't played this you have to go out to buy it ! It is so funny! It hardly has a scoring aspect but it is great for large groups. Basically you have to anonymously write down your answer to a question like "Things that are dirty...." Then the "reader" reads them all out loud and you have to guess who wrote what. I never laughed so hard!

On Sunday I went to a little friend of mine's hockey game. He's 5. It was adorable and he rocked and scored three goals! At night I went to my sister's house for a Super Bowl party. I like the commercials, half time show, and yummy food. The football not so much. Everyone thought the Black Eyed Peas did bad, but I liked it! What do you all think???

I went to bed too late on Sunday night, but work wasn't too bad today, and now I get to relax! Anyone want to put in a wager of if I'll work a full week with no snow??? Hahaa

I also got my Valentine's Day Swap package today and I LOVE everything I got!! I'll take pics and can't wait to show you tomorrow!

Meet the Teacher

My name is Stacy! I am 27 years old. I live in coastal Massachusetts with my boyfriend, Eliot, and our dog. We have been dating for almost 7 years which is absolutely CRAZY to me. It just really doesn't feel like it has been that long. I suppose that is a good thing though, right?? We met when we were both going to UMASS- Amherst when I was 20 and Eliot was 19. He was my best guy friend's roommate, so that worked out good for me! :)

After college, we wanted to try something new so we moved out to California. It was amazing. We missed our friends and fam though, so we moved back to Massachusetts after about a year. We had a great time, but I think it was a good decision because I really love being able to be near our families!

As for family, I am the youngest of three. I have one brother and one sister. I am waaay the youngest though because my sister is 8 years older than me and my brothers is 11. I think I was an accident but I can't get my parents to admit it! Haha. I have two nephews and two nieces. I also have a big, crazy extended fam of cousins, aunts, and uncles who I love a lot!
I began teaching in California as a SPED paraprofessional. I worked in a school that was 96% Hispanic which was a great experience because it was VERY different from the school I group up going to. After that I taught fifth grade. For the past three years I have worked with 1st through 5th grade students as a Math teacher. I really love my job and the being to work with kids of all different ages throughout the day. I can't really choose a favorite grade level because they all make my laugh and make my days interesting. I love to see the different developmental stages kids go though as they progress through elementary school. My other college major was psychology... can ya tell?? ;)

When I am not teaching I love to be outside. I love skiing in the winter and kayaking or beaching in the summer. I love the beach. I also love crafting and have an etsy store at! Check it out! I have an obsession with planning... even things like my future wedding (despite that I haven't been asked yet.... haha). I drink iced coffee everyday, even if it is -4 degrees. I like the colors teal and pink. Traveling is amazing because I love to see/try/do new thing! I try to always be smiling and try to look on the bright side of situations.

Anything else you'd like to know??? Just ask!

Now for the Q & A

Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a teacher?

If I wasn't a teacher I would probably own an italian inspired coffee shop/deli. I would have delicious sandwiches, coffee, GELATO!!, and encourage people to sit down and stay awhile. I think I would have little tables and chalkboard walls to entertain the kiddos who came in. See, I still have to get my kid fix in there somewhere!

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I have lots of interests which = a lot of hobbies! I love crafting, photography, kayaking, skiing, anything outside, TRAVEL, shopping for bargains!, reading, movies, blogging (of course!), running

Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A: A teacher! I really can't remember a time I didn't want to be a teacher, so I just made it happen! :)

Q: What are your guilty pleasures?

A: Bad TV (Jersey Shore, Teen Mom 2, Toddlers and Tiaras), anything chocolate, ICED COFFEE, sleeping....

Q: What is your biggest fear?!

A: Change, I just don't do well with changes.

Q: When you’re on vacation, where do you like to go?

A: ANYWHERE! I looove traveling and trying and seeing new and different things. I like going to foreign countries to experience other cultures. I still need to see the Northwest and Southwest of the US too because those are the areas I haven't been to!

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

A: BE YOURSELF! Try new things. Don't worry what others think!

Q: What do you value most in others?

A: Honesty and kindness! People who are kind are sooo much more pleasant to be around!

Q: If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass down to your kids, what would it be?

A: My resourcefulness.... I do most of the "fixing" in the house. That may not be a personality trait perse, but it would be nice. Also, my "glass is half full" mentality.

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world….living or dead…who would it be?
A: Julia Mancuso , Olmpic ski racer! She has a great attitude and is a great athlete! Love her.

Now tell us one random thing about yourself:

I can't get anything done until the area around me is clean and organized. I TRY to keep my desk at school organized so I can actually get stuff done, otherwise, I have to waste time cleaning!

Now it’s time for YOU to join the party!!!! Here’s what you need to do: Write a post titled “Meet The Teacher”. Start with a brief “biography” and then copy & paste the Q&A {using your answers, of course!} Copy the web address of your “Meet the Teacher” post and come back here & link up! It would be GREAT if you could visit at least 3 other teachers…get to know a little bit about your fellow bloggers…and leave a comment!!!! Don't forget to grab a button when you link up!!
