It's that time again.... FABULOUS FRIDAY!!

Here are some faaabulous tv shows I am looking forward to:

I basically like most TLC shows. This one is kind of like "Ace of Cakes." That guy above is *the* cake master of USA, apparently. His family runs a cake shop and he is the boss. Basically, they just make crazy, amazing cakes, and we all say, "woaah, how is that even possible?!"

This show is my guilty pleasure. I know it is kind of geared towards guys, but I love it anyway. I mean, c'mon, getting to look at Adrian Grenier all the time. YUM! Love him!

And lastly, I will always love..... J & K + Eight

Disregarding the drama, how cute are they?! I just can't stop watching!

Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend, everyone.
I will probably post again some other time this weekend because I've got lots to say!

I'm back!

I'm back from Michigan.

It was great to see my bro, sis-in-law, and niece. I don't get to see them nearly often enough. My niece is growing up so fast. She is only one inch shorter than me and her feet are two sizes bigger (we could practically share clothes....or shoes, which I do like to steal). She is 13 and
really boy crazy (sigh, to be 13 again.... ) but she is so beautiful, strong-willed, confident, and empathic to others. Traits you rarely see in thirteen year olds but good ones because I know no one's gonna knock her down. She rocks.

One of her favorite activities during our visit was to get my dad to try to read her text messages (she is a text message queen these days) which were filled with "lingo" like lol, g2g, lylas, ttyl, anywhere, anyhow, anyway (i don't even get that one) I have to admit it was pretty hilarious. We also had lots of fun riding her horse, giving each other *nearly* professional manicures, and playing Mario*Kart (best video game EVER. by the way) It was very fun and went by too quick.

Anyway, this was just a quick update to praise my niece. Love you lots Shelby, don't grow up too fast!! Expect a full recap of the trip with pics coming soon!! I am going to try to not neglect my blog or yours in the coming days. Just still a bit exhausted from travel though!

PS The weather was absolutely gorgeous this weekend. Love it!

Leaving on a jetplane!

I'm heading off to good ole' Michigan for the long weekend tomorrow.

As you can see my bro lives in kindof a don't blink or you'll miss it type of Midwestern town. You can walk to Dairy Queen from his house though, which kinda excites me because I don't have any DQs near me. Haha, it's the little things. Also, I can't wait to hang with my fave 13 yr old niece and meet her new horse Twizzler. I am excited to see my bro and sis-in-law too, of course. I miss them all the time since they live so far away! Quality time is much loved. There is also sure to be plenty of bonfires, beer, and barbecues. What's better than that? I'll have some pictures to post when I get back *hopefully*!!

I don't know if I will be able to do a Fabulous Friday post tomorrow, I might be able to squeeze it in, but I'm not sure. If not, maybe I'll just make it a fabulous Tuesday when I get back.

Last but not least, Happy 21st Birthday to boyfriend's baby bro!! I love you like a brother Jules and you make me laugh like no other. Hope you have a great night but don't do anything I wouldn't do! ; )

Everyone else, Happy Weekend (anddd unofficial start of SUMMER!!!)

Only 5 work days to get through before I get to spend a long weekend relaxing in Michigan visiting the bro, sis-in-law, and niece! Can't wait!

Also, why was this not invented when I was in college?!?

I could've had many a good time with this thing in my life!

Back in the sadddle agaiiiin.

So I totally forgot about giving you a birthday weekend update.

Howwwwever, I am going to start backwards to tell you how on Sunday afternoon I found myself sitting on a fake saddle in the middle of a restaurant with spotlights on me as waitresses screamed to a whole restaurant to yell, "Yeee Hawwww, Happy Birthday!!!" at me. You're jealous, right? I knew you would be. How lucky am I?

Kiddding. Well, that really did happen but I am kidding that I am lucky. I'm gonna go with more like horrifying, embarrassing, and freaking nerve producing. This is how it happened, my official birthday was on Saturday and I opted to just have pizza and cake at home with the fam and some friends and then go out for some drinks after. It was quite a fun time and I got lots of fun presents.... like a new shirt, a new watch, some jewelry, flip flops, an anti-gravity outdoor lounge chair (SO COMFY, although it makes you feel like you are in a dental chair!), a barnes and noble gift card, and monnneeyyy to buy more spring/summer clothes. Lovely.

On Mother's Day the fam... aka mom, dad, sis, bro-in-law, niece, nephew, the boy, and I went out to eat at the Texas Roadhouse (so fun that you get to throw peanut shells on the floor) to celebrate Mother's Day. As we were ordering my mom told the waitress it was my birthday. Oh yay. The waitress told me I better wish she never said that. This pretty much evoked fear in me and I was nervous for the entirety of the meal that someone was going to pop out at me or start singing to me out of the blue and scare me half to death! Then we ate, got our check, etc, etc, and I thought I was off the hook. Noooope. Then my horrible darling, sweet, little 8 year old niece needed to remind the waitress (who actually had forgotten by the way). Yay again. Next thing I know I am sitting on a saddle with 3 spotlights on me. Ughhhh! But what was I going to do? I couldn't flat out refuse, so I decided to be a good sport and grin and bear it while crossing my fingers that I didn't know anyone in the restaurant. I hope my mom was amused by it atleast, considering it was mother's day....

Oh yeah, I could have had a free picture with this guy (aka Andy the Armadillo) on the way out but he was nowhere to be found.

I need to get my pride back. Hahahaha

Ode to my Mom

Dear Mom,

*for bringing me up in a loving home full of fun and laughter
*taking me EVERYWHERE I needed to go as a little kid.
*for sticking up for me and always pushing me to do my best
*for laughing and crying with me whenever I needed it
*for buying me things I needed and things I just wanted too
*for letting me mess up and make my own mistakes occasionally
*for always being proud and celebrating my achievements... no matter how little or big!
*for dealing with my nightly craziness of NOT wanting to sleep in my own bed as a little kid... that musta been awful!
*for not staying mad at me for too long when I was young and did silly things like over-draft my back account and forget to pay my credit card bills. ohhh, eighteen year olds.
*for letting me talk to you about ANYTHING and wanting to too!
*for calling me every single day while I lived in California. I missed you.
*and of course, for bringing me into this world! I'd be nothing with out you!
Love You Mom! Hope you have a great day!

Also, Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies out there! You are all fabulous and I don't know how you do it! I only have to take care of myself and sometimes that is an issue. Haha.

Hope you are all relaxing and having a splendid day!

Wedding Nightmare

I had a crazy, crazy dream last night.

It was Boyfriend and I's wedding (we're not married, so maybe a sneak peek at our future wedding? I don't know.) We have been dating for 5 years though, which blows my mind a little when I think about what life was like 5 years ago. For example, my niece was three when boyfriend and I started dating. Now she is eight. This means she probably doesn't even remember a time when boyfriend wasn't around. He might as well be her uncle as much as I am her aunt. Weird, eh?

Back to the story: In the dream everything was going all wrong or was not how I wanted it. First of all, we had the wedding in a big, random house we rented in some random ugly town. It wasn't pretty at all. And who gets married in a ugly ginormous house?! EW.
Not how I hope it is AT ALL.

Secondly, everyone in my fam, boyfriend's fam, and our friends were staying over night in the house (meaning we were not to going to be alone on our first night of married life, ahem, if you know what I mean!). And we had to sleep in the LIVING ROOM. Oh how I love my big, crazy fam, but not thattt much!

Then lastly, the cake got ruined. My bridesmaids were wearing the wrong dresses. And I couldn't find my shoes (barefoot brides = not a fashion statement I want to make)

Actually, it was more of a NIGHTMARE. Reaaally hope it isn't a predictor of our future wedding....

but he already knows that when the time comes for it to no longer be a dream I need to be asked in an exciting and romantic way or I'll have to say no and that I don't like circle diamond rings, only square. so i've got that going for me.

A girl's gotta have standards. Just sayin'

I've got the rainy day bluuuues!

1. Dancing with the Stars was on tonight.... looove that show. And do you know who I mostly love?!

I think she is adorable and I want her to win. Everyone is like blah, blah they shouldn't let a gymnast on the show because she already knows how to dance, but I disagree. I think it is cool how she is the youngest and has to try hard to NOT be so young looking and gymnastic-y (i make up words. sorry). Annyway, GYMNASTICS is my favorite and SHE is my favorite.
So that's that. GO SHAWN!

2.I want to know if my blog is, oh i don't know, WORKING?!
Because it is being kinda weird. Like not showing up. Ugh, blogger, ugh!

3. Want to hear something GROSS?!
Today for lunch I had: Tomato Soup. Grilled Cheese. A pickle.
Tonight for dinner I had: Tomato Soup. Grilled Cheese. Iced Tea.

Eeeek. It was just one of those kinda days. Rainy, dreary New England.

4. I was all set to go to the garden store to look at plants (i'm a nerd, I have a garden in the summer) and then I was like oh wait, no, it's raining. Blaaah.

5. And the 1st and 2nd graders had not one but TWO indoor recesses.
Indoor recesses = RIDONKULOUS kids. They just really need time to run. But we made them dance to Phil Collins instead, which is another story for another day. Haha.

6. Ok I promise I will have something of more interest tomorrow.
For now, a gratuitous shot of one of my favorite babies. I babysit for him and I love him. Don't you just want to eat him up?! I DO!

7. And ew, there is some unidentifiable red stuff on my keyboard so I need to go take care of that! Bye!

Pluses and Minuses

+I ordered some new makeup and stuff from Sephora and received it today! And since boyfriend works for a big brown company that delivers packages (haha) I did not even have to wait for it. It was just magically there when I got home :) Dontcha just love new makeup? And ps nail polish stickers, isn't that crazy?! I don't know how they'll work, but I'll let ya know.

+ I had a long, busy, fun weekend and I got to see the Kentucky Derby upset, eat lots of good food, and watch the Celts win, of course.

+ I finished not one, not two, but THREE cover letters and resume packages today. Ohhh job hunting is so not fun, but usually it takes me like 2 hrs to change my cover letter for one job and today I managed 3 in about an hour in a half. good.

+ My birthday is on Saturday. I really want this cake. Who wouldn't want Fudgie the Whale?! I just think he is adorable.

This was supposed to be a pluses and minuses entry, but then I realized I didn't have any minuses today. That's a good thing.

Happy almost Tuesday, everyone and what were YOUR pluses today?

It's a Fabulous Friday!!

Happy Friday and May Day, everyone! (I love the month of May, and my birthday is in 9 days!)

Do you know what tomorrow is?
It is the most exciting two minutes in sports.

I'll give you a hint:

It includes ladies wearing these (love this one by the way, wish I got to wear it!) :

And drinking these (which I happen to only PRETEND I like... )

To win a blanket of these:

YUP! You guessed it! It's Kentucky Derby Day! Make sure you tune in!

In other, totally unrelated news, Danielle, at well that's just fabulous, is starting Fabulous Fridays and I decided to play along. This weeks is fabulous candy..... which is pretty tough because candy is pretty fabulous and is my sometime my guilty pleasure of choice. But if I had to choose one fabulous candy it would have to be:
duh duh duh......

(i think i could eat about a million)

Have a great weekend, everyone!!
